SCHOOL GRADUATION

Jean recently had the privilege of being the guest of honour and the main speaker at a school graduation that was held several miles from Harare in a little village called Domboshava.  Here are just a few pictures of that event, which I am sure Jean will remember the rest of her life.

This was the school where the children attended, very humble and very standard for the school system there.

The Headmaster, Asst. Headmaster and one of the teachers of the children.  This was the newest building in the complex, and they were very proud of it.

Computer room, there was a total of 3 working computers and they were so antiquated, but the officials were so proud of what they had.  I'm sure our schools would not even think of using computers that were this old.

The other end of the classroom with a couple of students. Note the uniforms, they all wear uniforms.

Some of Sister Heck's friends that followed her every where she went.

Some of the kids were helping prepare lunch for the dignitaries, and Sister Heck was inspecting the grade A facility, deciding whether she wanted sudsa or sudsa.

Students enjoying an outdoor assembly, before the big event.  If you are in the shade you were lucky.

The all had to shake hand with the dignitary from the USA.  It was a very special day for these children.

Skits were performed by the students.  This was a Christmas skit about the baby Jesus being born.

Talks and poems were recited.
What you really need to know is that never was there any notes used, everything was memorized and all the children spoke clearly and loudly so everyone understood what they said.  Excellent!!

Then it was time for the dignitary to speak.  Note, she had to use notes, and none of the students did.  The gentleman to the right is called Professor.  Very strong member of the Church who has gone to the temple.

We thought she would never finish. They all listened intently.
